About
I’m a Canadian entrepreneur. I’ve worked in technology, fundraising, film and events, and spent nine years living in London.
In 2008, I created Twestival to bring Twitter users together offline for a cause. Volunteers in more than 250 cities organized their own events, raising over $1.84 million for 300+ nonprofits.
I also co-founded Space2, a film and event locations company that hosted everything from London Fashion Week to major studio productions. I’ve led global campaigns including Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution Day and advised organizations such as Oceana, the MTV Staying Alive Foundation and Red Nose Day.
My Master’s dissertation explored Twitter as the “digital public square.” I was interested in how people could use the internet to organize and do something together. That’s still a big part of my work.
My experience as an organizer has shown me how much leadership happens behind the scenes. In local communities and across global movements, people bring others together and move ideas into action, often with very few resources.
I’m excited about the possibilities of AI, and I believe organizers should be at the center of it. As work and community life change, we’re going to need them more than ever to help us find new ways to look after each other. That’s where I want to spend my time: building tools that help them do their work.

"Without Amanda’s help, the first Food Revolution Day would not have been the global success that it was. Amanda’s passion, knowledge, and contacts are truly exceptional."
"Amanda Rose had become the Bob Geldof of her generation … a very powerful free agent for social change."
